Furba stream - Visit Quarrata
Furba stream

The Furba stream is a tributary of the Ombrone Pistoiese River, approximately 5 km long. It rises between Seano and Bacchereto, in the municipality of Carmignano, flows through Seano and joins the Ombrone at Poggetto, in the municipality of Poggio a Caiano. Despite its short course, the stream features numerous small waterfalls and a varied landscape. Its upper section flows through a natural, wooded environment, while the lower section passes through a heavily urbanised area. This area plays a vital role in the local ecosystem, helping to prevent riverbank erosion, trap sediments carried downstream from the hills, and regulate soil moisture and temperature.
