Along the Via Medicea
Wandering between taste and nature
Quarrata
Discovering Montalbano, the Medici, and their works among historic villages, UNESCO Villas, and ancient agricultural traditions.
The Via Medicea is a trail that connects four Medici Villas, recognized as UNESCO World Heritage Sites, along with other locations of historical and natural significance. It traverses the Montalbano, a territory of strategic importance during the Middle Ages, later transformed over centuries into an integrated system of plains, hills, and mountains.
From the 15th century, the Medici shaped this area with villas, agricultural developments, and innovations.
The route links historic villages, Medici Villas, vineyards, and olive groves, showcasing a deep passion for agriculture, art, and nature, including the Carmignano DOC.
It is a unique journey through landscapes and stories that reveal the profound connection between humanity, land, and culture.
In Quarrata, the itinerary includes Villa La Magia, part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site “Medici Villas and Gardens in Tuscany.”
